People are more weak minded than bad. We inherit generations of badness instantly by being born and are not given the tools to see through the badness. People want to do good but do not even know where to start.
I needed to read your words today. In the way that only you could express, this time in history has been laid bare. I’m grateful for your commitment to better and I’m thankful for the person you are and have grown to be 💕
I cannot envision where we are going -- Mother Nature is kicking us out. All options are frightening, and I have no personal experience from which to project the future, only recorded history. If it's "only the strong survive" why hasn't old man *r*m* been overthrown already?
I’ve been feeling a lot of the same things but couldn’t quite articulate them like this. The part about people claiming to be good while cheering for harmful policies really hit me. It’s terrifying and disheartening, but you also reminded me that there are still people who choose compassion—and that gives me a bit of hope.
My grandfather is friends with a nun who does immigrant outreach work and is also a Trump supporter. I can't wrap my head around that. More people than I expected will do charity work and also vote for Republicans. It's like, these charities exist because this country keeps people in poverty!

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it."
-- Agent K, Men in Black (1997)
Such a thoughtful, honest, and frankly scary piece. You have caused me anew to worry but have good cause.
