Hi Allison! That was really great to listen to. I couldn't agree more about both your views on speedbumps. I've witnessed so many couples go years without any disagreements or fights, and then suddenly break up. This tends to happen when one person bites their tongue and doesn't speak up and resentment builds up over time until they explode! Learning how to navigate disagreements is huge, and will help build more and more confidence in the relationship, because you know you can be honest with each other and survive speed bumps :)

Such a beautiful conversation packed with honesty, compassion, and understanding. Just hearing the openness between you two is a massive encouragement to me, that so much openness and clarity can exist in a romantic setting. Thank you both for your vulnerability!!
This episode was surprisingly relatable to listen to! Hearing you and John talk about the stages of your relationship and moving on from your ex felt like listening to a conversation between myself at my current partner. After having a long term relationship end without real explanation, it has been so incredibly helpful to have a partner who is honest about how much they are willing to commit. It sounds like John has taken the time to decide if the steps you both take are steps he truly wants to commit to- this is something I have found to be helpful in my current relationship, even if my instinct is to rush into something and commit early to find some sense of security. Going through this process has felt isolating, or like my partner and I are navigating something very few people have. It’s so nice to hear you and John talk about your experiences, and it helps that it’s also incredibly entertaining!
